To help at risk youth of Bamako, Mali reach their potential through art driven educational and vocational programs.
To uplift communities across the world through the arts.
WHAT IS THE MURALS FOR MALI PROJECT?
Our team is a collection of artists and social activists with the purpose to advocate and raise awareness about child labor, abuse and neglect through the arts. We hope to achieve this by interactive educational workshops, mural collaborations, music and vocal dance workshops, concerts, and performances.
The Murals for Mali Project will be a year round program of classes, workshops, activities and concerts. The overarching message of the program is to transform lives by raising awareness about child labor, and encourage innovation and creativity through the arts.
The program will target the at risk youth population of Bamako, with an emphasis on the children who live in the streets and have fallen between the cracks of society. Art, academics, and health education will be integrated into the fun, educational, and recreational activities available year round.
Students will undergo a selective process in order to participate in the program, that includes visual arts, dance, music, math, reading, writing, and health assessments.
